A construction crane collapsed Saturday and fell onto a building in downtown Miami as damaging winds from Hurricane Irma hit the city.

Television station WPLG also reported that the crane collapsed on Northeast 3rd Street between Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 2nd Avenue in Miami.

No injuries have been reported. The Miami Herald reported that the crane was stationed at 300 Biscayne Boulevard near Miami’s iconic Freedom Tower.

The address is the site of a residential development by New York-based Property Management Group.

City officials had warned residents living near downtown construction sites that the hurricane could cause cranes to collapse.

About 25 cranes remained on Miami construction sites as Hurricane Irma began to approach South Florida. [WPLG]Mike Seemuth
