A proposal for the tallest skyscraper in Colorado has inched forward with the filing of concept documents for an 81-story hotel and residential building.

The latest proposal is somewhat more modest than the 90-story, 1,000-foot-tall needle floated by New York developer Greenwich Realty Capital last September, but the tower — if it’s ever built — would still soar past 56-story Republic Plaza as Denver’s loftiest skyscraper.
